The mount for the screen is too short, I should have purchased the taller one so that it would fit in the friction base dashboard mount. The batter charger is okay and works well, the only negative I have with it is that not having the taller screen mount, it interferes with the friction dashboard holder.
I used this all summer without a problem but as soon as the weather cooled I would find it on the floor mat in the morning. I purchased an after-market unit on eBay for $12 and I could hang my 5 yr old off that thing without it coming off (even in weather below freezing). Worse than that, it fell off the windshield 3 times while the unit was attached. Read up on this and you will find a number of owners fighting with TomTom over broken LCD screens only to find out THEY are at fault (according to Tom TOM CS reps) for the damage done by TomTOM's piece of junk window mount. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SKIP THIS ENTIRELY. Heck I'll give you mine if you want it
Despite a clean windshield, this product repeatedly loses suction and falls off. It's my second one - TomTom needs to redesign their mounts.
Well.it works.but it seems to even amplify vibrations.Tried both - mounting on windshield and on top of the dashboard: dashboard was slightly better yet still poor.After a while your eyes get tired and irritated looking at the jittering GPS. (used it with a TT 930).They should have firmed/stiffed the bended arm or use more energy absorbing materials - but I guess that was just too much engineering thoughts for a "cheap accessory".which is neither cheap nor good.
I took my TomTom on a trip and left the mounting bracket in the rental car, never to be seen again. This substitute bracket is the genuine article and now I can use my TomTom again. Just wish I could have bought the bracket only without the charger unit.
